Bending Acrylic
Posted by Rod Chedister | Filed under Uncategorized
I’m working on yet another new b’ville shroud design and for some reason, the idea of a bent acrylic shroud appeals to me. I’ve built shrouds from metal and from acrylic but the previous acrylic ones were separate pieces that were chemically welded together where the metal ones were a combination of bending and brazing. So, now I want to combine them and build a bent and shaped acrylic one with ver minor use of solvent cements. While I have an evil scheme already worked up for producing such a creature, I was wondering if anyone has done much with plexi-bending and, if so, how you approached it.
