First Boot

“First Boot” refers to the first time you actually boot a computer that you’ve just built, or the first time you boot a computer that you receive from a manufacturer (they don’t boot them up before they leave the factory, believe it or not). Even with store bought machines, there is always some trepidation when first booting a machine, but that’s all it is. The, “First Boot,” is your moment of truth to see if your machine will rumble to life or, if it doesn’t, it’s your first sign that you will spend a couple of hours going through your troubleshooting checklist. As an aside, I’ve never had a first boot go awry on any machine I built from scratch, and I’ve built a few.

However, the only, “numbers,” you have to enter are your Windows product key (which is of course now letters, but I digress …)
